About the 2010 event...
Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area racquetball players and fans are excited to host to the kick-off event for the 2010-2011 WPRO season at the Landmark Fitness Club in North Dallas on August 27-29, 2010. Come watch and play as some of the best racquetball players in the world compete for $10,000 in prize money in the WPRO Pro Singles Division and over $3850 in the Men's Pro/Open Division, Women's Open singles, Mixed Pro/Open doubles and Men's Open double's divisions. This is event is a WPRO Tier 1 Level Event and IRT Tier 5 Event fully sanctioned by the USRA/TXRA with both mens and womens singles and doubles divisions offered. WPRO Pro Singles Entries: All players who wish to enter the WPRO pro singles division can enter the WPRO Pro singles division on the R2 site. Players should also notify WPRO Commissioner Shannon Feaster at wprocommish@aim.com directly no later than Friday, August 20, 2010. We encourage all pros to register online or notify the commissioner as soon as possible if they desire to participate in the tournament to secure their spot. Space is limited due to court and time restrictions at the host facility. All WPRO pro division entry fees are retained and collected by the WPRO. Pro division entry fees are $80 and includes WPRO dues ($10 per event unless Pro is already a full member of WPRO). Players may enter up to 2 events online including the WPRO Pro Singles division. If players would like to enter Mixed Pro/Open Doubles as their 3rd event they should contact the touranment director/s and they will be manually added to the division.

2010 Pro/Am Sponsor Doubles Challenge/VIP Reception - Thursday, August 26, 2010 - 6:30pm-8:30pm - at the Landmark Fitness Club
8-10 of the tournament's top sponsors will have the opportunity to play doubles with a top WPRO pro in a round robin format event with 8-10 teams, 4-5 teams in each pool with the top team in each pool advancing to a championship game to determine the overall winner. The winner of the Pro/Am Doubles Challenge will receive a special custom "Texas Open" skinned Ektelon EXO3 racquet courtesy of Ektelon and RacquetSkinz.
Pro/Am doubles participants will be provided with complimentary food and beverages Thursday evening and will receive a special gift from the tournament staff.
Even if you are not playing in the doubles challenge, feel free to come out and watch the pro/am doubles event Thursday evening free of charge. Individual guest meal tickets will be available for purchase at the sponsor doubles challenge for Thursday nights meal including food and beverages.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE:
Sorry, the 2010 Texas Open tournament is FULL. Online Entry is NOW CLOSED as of 08/12/10.
All entries must be received by Friday, August 20, 2010 by 10pm Central Time and/or postmarked by Tuesday, August 17, 2010. Phone entries will be accepted through Friday, August 20 by 10pm Central time (unless tournament has reached capacity). Register early to secure your spot. Space will be limited due to court restrictions (1 facility - 6 total courts). The first 150 players with paid entries will be guaranteed. The 2009 Texas Open was full 2 weeks prior to the event. So we encourage all players to register online early to secure their spot in the event. Once we have reached full capacity, we will place you on a waiting list. If we are able to accommodate additional players due to no shows or withdrawals then the tournament director will contact you and add you to the entrants list. All amateur players must be prepared to play as early as 12pm (noon) on Friday, August 27, 2010. WPRO Pro's must be prepared to play as early as 9am on Friday, August 27 (Round of 64 if necessary) or 11:00am (Round of 32 begins). Requests for special starting times must be indicated on the entry form, however no guarantees can be made.
SILENT AUCTION - Proceeds to benefit the American Breast Cancer Foundation

We will have a silent auction table set up at the tournament with tons of great items to bid on. 100% of the proceeds from the silent auction will go to benefit the American Breast Cancer Foundation. If you have anything (products or services) that you would like to donate to the silent auction table, please contact us. We can provide you with a receipt for your donation which will be 100% tax deductible. Bring your checkbook with you to help us raise money for the ABCF!

WOMEN AND RACQUETBALL EVENT - ICE CREAM SOCIAL
| All women and girls are invited to join us for a Women And Racquetball (W.A.R) Ice Cream Social on Saturday, August 28 at 3PM (or immediately following the last WPRO Quarterfinals match) in the VIP/Hospitality Room at the Landmark Club. Meet and greet with the friendly ladies of the WPRO while enjoying delicious ice cream floats with soda provided by Dr Pepper/Snapple Group including A&W Rootbeer, RC Cola, Dr Pepper or Diet Dr Pepper. You choose your flavor. All attendees will receive cool door prizes! Come out and support women's racquetball, learn more about racquetball, make some new friends and get to know the ladies of the WPRO better! Tournament T-Shirts:
The 2010 Texas Open tournament t-shirts will be printed on Gildan 5.3oz Cotton Short Sleeve T-Shirt in Sapphire Blue or Black. Any left-over shirts will be available for purchase for $10 at the event. You may order additional shirts at checkout at the Online Registration site. Please indiciate your size/color preferences in the comments box. Every participant will receive a free tournament shirt with their entry.
About the WPRO Tour...The Women's Professional Racquetball Organization (WPRO) is the governing body of a growing membership of the highest-level professional female racquetball players in the world. The WPRO is currently comprised of elite athletes representing over a dozen countries, including the United States, Mexico, Chile, Canada, Puerto Rico, Japan, Dominican Republic and Venezuela. Shannon Feaster is the commissioner of the WPRO.
About the IRT Tour...The IRT is the governing body of men's professional racquetball. Structured as a partnership with the best players and tournaments in the world, the IRT is responsible for ranking the world's players based on performance, administration of the tournament calendar, officiating & rules and the promotion of the professional sport. Jason Mannino is the commisioner of the IRT.
